Peripheral Devices
This function is only available with certain asset types. Therefore, the relevant tab may not be displayed. |
1. | In the main window, select ITSM > Configuration Management > CMDB. |
2. | Search for and select the applicable asset record. |
3. | When the asset record window displays, click the Components tab. |
4. | Click Peripheral Devices. |
Add Peripheral Device
1. | Click Add. The Peripheral Device dialog box displays. |
2. | Click New Peripheral Device. |
3. | Enter the applicable field information. |
4. | When all selections/entries are made, click . |
Edit Peripheral Device
1. | Click Existing Peripheral Device. |
2. | Enter the search criteria to locate the existing device. |
3. | Select the applicable device from the results list. |
4. | When all selections are made, click Save. |
View and Edit the Peripheral Device Details
1. | While viewing the list of existing devices, select the device to edit. The windows refreshes and the details for the device displays. These details are view only. |
2. | To view the supporting CIs: |
a. | Click the CI item. |
The Configuration Items window displays.
b. | Click Components. Refer to CI Components. |
3. | To add a contact, navigate to the Contacts section and click Add. The Contacts dialog box displays. |
a. | In the Choose Relation field, click the drop-down list and select how this contact should be related to this asset. |
b. | In the search field, enter the search criteria. |
c. | Select a contact from the results list, moving it to the selected list. |
d. | When all selections are made, click Save. |
Delete Peripheral Device
Deleting is a permanent action and cannot be undone. Deleting may affect other functionality and information in the application such as data in configured reports, fields in windows, selectable options, etc. Therefore, be sure to understand the potential effects before making a deletion. |
While viewing the list of existing records, select a record(s) to delete, and click the Delete button.
