Manual Application Update

Use this procedure to manually update the Virima Discovery Application using an update_6.1.4026.zip package. This method updates only application binaries (for example, DAClient.jar, version.txt, and library files) and preserves existing configuration, keystore, and credentials.

Objectives

• Provide a repeatable process to manually update the Discovery Application using update_6.1.4026.zip

• Preserve existing configuration, keystore, and credential data

• Minimize downtime by updating only files included in the update package and restarting the Virima Discovery Application service once

Procedure

Follow these steps on the Virima Discovery Application machine.

1. Stop the Virima Discovery Application.

   1. Locate the Virima Discovery Application shortcut on the desktop.

   2. Click Stop.

2. Download the update package.

   • Click the update_6.1.4026.zip link and download it to the Discovery Application machine.

3. Apply the update.

   1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file.

   2. Replace the files in the installation directory with the extracted files, using the paths below:

      File	Destination path
      DAClient.jar	C:\Program Files\Virima Discovery Application\
      version.txt	C:\Program Files\Virima Discovery Application\
      All files inside the lib directory from the update package	C:\Program Files\Virima Discovery Application\lib\

      Note: Copy the individual files from inside the lib folder to the destination. Do not copy or replace the lib folder itself.

4. Update common.properties.

   1. Open the common.properties file located at C:\Program Files\Virima Discovery Application\config.

   2. At the end of the file, add the following two properties:

      snmpv3PerCredentialTimeoutSeconds=22

      snmpCredentialTryingTimeInSeconds=120

   3. Save the file.

5. Start the Virima Discovery Application.

   1. Locate the Virima Discovery Application shortcut on the desktop.

   2. Click Start.

   3. Confirm the status shows Running.
