VLAN Component for Switches
A new VLAN component has been added to the Switch blueprint. During SNMP-based network scans, VLAN configuration details are now discovered automatically and stored as part of the switch’s component inventory in the CMDB.
Where the VLAN component appears
The discovered VLAN data is visible in the following locations:
| Location | What changed |
|---|---|
| CMDB > Switch CI > Components tab | A new VLAN section lists the VLAN IDs and names discovered from the switch. |
| Discovered Items > Switch | VLAN data is included in the discovery results after an SNMP scan completes. |
Procedure
Complete the following step after upgrading to v6.1.2 to populate the VLAN component for existing switches.
-
Re-scan the switches.
Trigger a new SNMP scan on the switches, or wait for the next scheduled scan to run. The VLAN component is populated automatically as part of the scan results.
Note: No configuration changes are required. The VLAN component is available automatically after the upgrade and is populated during the next SNMP scan of each switch.
