Subscription Name Field for Azure Resources
All Azure resources discovered through Azure Import now include a human-readable subscription name in addition to the Subscription ID (GUID). The new Subscription Name field (for example, Production-East-US) is available across all Azure blueprint types and improves readability across the CMDB, reports, and search.
Where the Subscription Name appears
The Subscription Name is available in the following locations:
| Location | What changed |
|---|---|
| CMDB > Azure CI Detail page | A new Subscription Name field appears under Asset Primary Information and shows the friendly subscription name. |
| CMDB tabular view | Subscription Name is available as a column that can be added to tabular views for any Azure blueprint. |
| Reports and exports | Subscription Name can be included in any CMDB report or export that covers Azure CIs. |
| Filters and search | You can filter or search Azure CIs by subscription name. |
Procedure
Complete the following steps after upgrading to v6.1.2 to populate and use the Subscription Name field.
-
Re-run the Azure import.
Trigger a new Azure import, or wait for the next scheduled import to run. Existing Azure CIs are updated with the subscription name on the next import cycle.
-
Add the column to tabular views.
This step is optional. To display the subscription name in tabular views:
-
Go to CMDB and select any Azure blueprint.
-
Click Column Settings.
-
Add Subscription Name to the visible columns.
-
-
Update custom reports.
This step is optional. If you maintain custom reports for Azure CIs, include the Subscription Name field to improve readability.
Note: The Subscription Name is populated on the next import cycle. Until then, existing Azure CIs continue to display only the Subscription ID.
