Network Scan Serial Number Field Mapping

During SNMP network device scans, the serial number was previously mapped only to the Device Serial Number field, leaving the standard Serial Number field blank. Both Serial Number and Device Serial Number are now populated during SNMP scans, ensuring consistent visibility across all CMDB views and reports.

Where the fix appears

The corrected mapping is visible in the following locations:

Location What changed
CMDB > Switch, Router, or Network Device CI > Detail page Both Serial Number and Device Serial Number now display the serial number.
Reports Any report referencing Serial Number now returns results for network devices.

Procedure

Complete the following step after upgrading to v6.1.2 to populate the field for existing network devices.

  1. Re-scan network devices.

    Trigger a re-scan of network devices to populate the Serial Number field. Existing Device Serial Number data is preserved.
