Hostname-Based Scan Group Save Fix
Scan groups configured with Scan Through: Host Name previously triggered a false IP range validation error when saved, which blocked all edits to the name, probe, client, and host list. The save validation logic now skips IP range checks when the scan mode is set to Host Name, so hostname-based scan groups can be edited and saved without error.
Where the fix appears
The corrected save behavior is visible in the following locations:
| Location | What changed |
|---|---|
| Discovery > Scan Groups > Edit (hostname-based group) | Saving changes no longer triggers a false IP range validation error. |
| Discovery > Scheduled Scan configuration | Hostname-based scan group updates can be saved and take effect as expected. |
Procedure
Complete the following steps after upgrading to v6.1.2 to edit an existing hostname-based scan group.
-
Open the scheduled scan group.
Go to Discovery > Scan Groups and open any scan group configured with Scan Through: Host Name.
-
Modify and save.
Make the required changes and click Save. The fix takes effect automatically after upgrade.
