Manual Agent Installation

Use the following procedure to install the Discovery Agent manually on a target machine.

1. Download the agent installer package for the target platform.

   • Windows: .exe installer.

   • Linux: .tar.gz archive.

2. On the target machine, run the installer.

   • Windows: Run the .exe as Administrator and follow the prompts.

   • Linux: Extract the archive and run install.sh as root.

3. The agent service is created and started automatically.

Note: If an agent already exists on the machine, the installer removes the old installation and performs a fresh reinstall. The agent's identity is preserved, so it remains recognized in the Virima system.
